LOWER SHOSHONE – Flows are around 1450 cfs. Water is off color but you can catch some trout. Bobber rigs with beadhead nymphs or streamers on the edges.
BIG HORN / WIND – Flows are around 2000 cfs. Fishing has been good. Worms, leeches, crawdads and streamers. Flies to use include: San Juan worms, yuk bugs, thin mints, zirdles, cowbell crawfish, perdigons, sow bugs, chubbies, Duracells, pine squirrel leeches, sparkle minnows, Goldies, Swim Coaches and Jawbreakers.
NORTH FORK – Fishing has been good all the way down to the reservoir. Dry/dropper has been the go to rig but nymphing or streamers are also working. Flies to use include: Chubbies, yellows sallies, hoppers, ants, beetles, attractors, caddis, Yuk bugs, Rubber Legs, Halfbacks, 20 Inchers, Mega Princes, Two Bit Stone, CDC Stone, TJ Hookers, Deep Cleaners, Thin Mints, Hustlers, Duracells and Copper Johns.
SOUTH FORK – Fishing has been good. Yellow sallies and caddis are out in the Valley section. Flies to use include: Chubbies, caddis, stimulators, Pat’s Rubber legs, 20 Inchers, Two Bit Stones, CDC Stones, Thin Mints, soft hackle pheasant tails, Hustlers, Possie Buggers, Duracells, Goldies, Rusty Trombones and Jawbreakers.
CLARK’S FORK – Fishing well all the way from the Crandall area down stream to the state line. Caddis, PMD’s, yellow sallies and a few goldens are still out on the lower river. Flies to use include: Chubbies, Water Walkers, caddis, Pat’s Rubber legs, attractors, caddis, soft hackle pheasant tails, Duracells, prince nymphs, copper johns, worms, perdigons, Hare’s Ears and streamers.
GREYBULL / WOOD – Flows are dropping and both have been fishing well. Flies to use include: Chubbbies, caddis, attractors, Pat’s rubber legs, soft hackles pheasant tails, Duracells, prince nymphs, Copper Johns, Hare’s Ears and perdigons.
YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK – Upper Yellowstone above the falls is still fishing well, although fishing will be tougher than the first few weeks were after the opener. Terrestrials and rusty spinners in the NE Corner (Lamar, Slough, Soda Butte). Callibaetis and flying ants on Yellowstone Lake.
NEWTON LAKES – Chironomids, callibaetis, damsels, scuds, leeches and terrestrials.
LUCE/HOGAN RESERVOIRS – Chironomids, callibaetis, damsels, scuds, leeches and terrestrials.
SUNSHINE RESERVOIRS – Chironomids, callibaetis, damsels, scuds, leeches and terrestrials.
