LOWER SHOSHONE – Flows are around 270 cfs and fishing has been great! The water clarity is great through town and deteriorates a little the closer you get to Willwood. Mother’s Day Caddis and blue winged olives are popping and have the trout looking up. Nymphing a sow bug, caddis pupa or blue wing nymph has also been effective. Streamers, especially when floating, are always a good option.
BIG HORN / WIND – Flows are around 715 cfs and fishing has been fantastic even with the high volume of boat traffic! You can head hunt for risers on tricos and blue winged olives but a sow bug, sunken trico, blue wing nymph or worm under a bobber will also produce. Streamers have also been picking up some nice fish lately.
NORTH FORK – Closed to fishing downstream of Newton Creek until July 1st! Flows spiked overnight but should drop and clear with the much colder weather forecasted for this coming week. Skwalas, March Browns, blue winged olives, stonefly nymphs, attractor nymphs, eggs and streamers on heavy tippet.
SOUTH FORK – Flows are still fairly low but the river is fishable all the way down to the reservoir. Skwalas are crawling and flying around by Valley School. Chubbies, water walkers and stimulators in size 10-12 have been working well on the surface. Also a few March Browns and blue winged olives popping. Dry/dropper or nymphing with a stonefly or attractor nymphs has been good as well. Streamers have also been catching some good fish.
CLARK’S FORK – Water clarity is better upstream of Paint and Pat O’Hara Creeks closer to the canyon mouth. Blue winged olives, March Browns, stonefly & attractor nymphs as well as streamers.
GREYBULL / WOOD – Low and clear. Skwalas, March Browns and blue winged olives.
YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK – Closed to fishing until Memorial Day Weekend 2022!
NEWTON LAKES – Both lakes are open. Chironomids, scuds and leeches.
