LOWER SHOSHONE – FLUSHING FLOWS are scheduled for April 11-14th. Flows were bumped up to 4500 cfs on April 11th, will decrease to 3500 cfs on April 12th and settle at 1200 cfs the evening of April 14th. The river is quite off color due to low elevation snowmelt.
BIG HORN / WIND – Flows are around 2400 cfs and fishing has been good. Blue winged olives, midges, worms, sow bugs and streamers.
NORTH FORK – The river is now CLOSED to fishing downstream of Newton Creek until July 1st. River conditions deteriorated quickly with the warm weather as flows jumped to around 650 cfs yesterday and the river is quite muddy. It will probably be a week or so before we see good numbers of trout above the closure as the run began very late this spring. Big stonefly nymphs likes rubber legs, purple 20 Inchers, yuk bugs, hot head pheasant tails, halfbacks, zirdles, and Two Bit Stones as well as soft hackle beadheads and eggs in the slowest deepest runs will work well. Streamers, whether swung or stripped will also produce.
SOUTH FORK – River conditions deteriorated quickly with the warm weather and the river is currently quite muddy.
CLARK’S FORK – Water quality is better above Paint and Pat O’Hara Creeks but river conditions deteriorated quickly with the warm weather and the river is currently quite muddy all the way down to the state line.
GREYBULL / WOOD – Still quite a bit of shelf ice on both rivers. River conditions deteriorated quickly with the warm weather and both rivers are currently quite muddy.
YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK – Closed to fishing until Memorial Day Weekend 2023!
NEWTON LAKES – East Newton is open and has been fishing well. Chironomids, scuds and leeches.
LUCE/HOGAN RESERVOIRS – Luce is open and has been fishing well. Chironomids, scuds and leeches.
SUNSHINE RESERVOIRS – Frozen.
