LOWER SHOSHONE – Flows are 330 cfs and there’s a fair amount of moss breaking free since they lowered the flows. Blue winged olives, midges, October caddis, sow bugs, leeches and streamers.
BIG HORN / WIND – Flows are 570 cfs. Blue winged olives, midges, worms, leeches, scuds, sowbugs, crawdads, crane flies and streamers.
NORTH FORK – Fish the deeper runs. A few browns are pushing up to spawn. Blue winged olives, midges and October caddis. Nymph smaller stones and general beadheads like prince nymphs, pheasant tails and hare’s ears.
SOUTH FORK – The Valley section have been fishing well. Blue winged olives, midges and October caddis. Nymph smaller stones and general beadheads like prince nymphs, pheasant tails and hare’s ears. Stripping streamers like JJ specials, thin mints and jawbreakers will work as well. Watch for spawning brown trout and please don’t step on redds!
CLARK’S FORK – Blue winged olives, midges and October caddis are the hatches. Drop smaller stones and general beadheads like prince nymphs, pheasant tails and hare’s ears. Don’t forget your streamers!
GREYBULL / WOOD – Blue winged olives, midges as well as attractors will work on the surface. Smaller beadhead nymphs in sizes 14-18 are taking fish below the surface.
YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK – Swing soft hackles and look for risers sipping blue winged olives on the Firehole. There’s good numbers of trout now in the Madison for those who want to throw or swing streamers for runners out of Hebgen.
NEWTON LAKES – Both lakes are incredibly full but there is a usable parking lot now. Midges, scuds and leeches.
LUCE / HOGAN RESERVOIRS – Look for cruisers in the shallows at Luce. Scuds, midges and leeches.
