LOWER SHOSHONE – Flows are around 1230 cfs and the river is fishing well. Fish the edges and soft water with nymphs or streamers. Hopper/dropper rigs are also picking up fish.

BIG HORN / WIND – Flows are around 1275 cfs. Trout are sipping tricos in the mornings. Hopper/dropper rigs on the edges and in the riffles are picking up fish above and below the surface, or nymph the seams with sow bugs, sunken tricos, crawdads and worms.

NORTH FORK – There are significantly more trout in the lower river as the flows continue to drop. Fish down towards the reservoir for the best luck. Toss a hopper/dropper rig with a stonefly nymph or jig soft hackle. Nymphing and streamers are both catching fish as well.

SOUTH FORK – Fishing well with a hopper/dropper or nymph rig. Drop a bigger stonefly nymph or toss a streamer to catch less whitefish and more trout.

CLARK’S FORK – Terrestrial and attractor dries up in the forest. Nocturnal stones are out on the lower river. Hopper/dropper and streamers below the canyon.

GREYBULL / WOOD – Both are fishing well. Terrestrial and attractor dry fly fishing has been fantastic.

YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK – Hoot Owl restrictions are now in effect on Soda Butte and Slough Creeks, as well as the Lamar River (downstream of Cache Creek) in the NE corner of the park which means no fishing is allowed after 2 pm. Look for terrestrials, grey drakes, caddis and PMDs on the Yellowstone River above the falls.

NEWTON LAKES – Very warm. Fish early or late. Damsels, chironomids, leeches, flying ants and beetles.

LUCE/HOGAN RESERVOIRS -Very warm. Fish early or late. Damsels, chironomids, leeches, flying ants and beetles.
