LOWER SHOSHONE – Flows are around 1325 cfs and the river is fishing well. Fish the edges and soft water with nymphs or streamers. Hopper/dropper rigs are also picking up fish.

BIG HORN / WIND – Flows are around 1300 cfs. Trout are sipping tricos in the mornings. Hopper/dropper rigs on the edges are picking up fish above and below the surface, or nymph the seams with sow bugs, sunken tricos, crawdads and worms.

NORTH FORK – There are significantly more trout now in the lower reaches of the river towards the reservoir.  Caddis are out in the evenings. Toss a hopper/dropper rig with a stonefly nymph or jig soft hackle. Nymphing and streamers are both catching fish as well.

SOUTH FORK – Clear and fishing well along its entire length. Golden stones, yellow sallies caddis and green drakes are hatching. Fish the edges with a hopper/dropper or streamer.

CLARK’S FORK – Terrestrial and attractor dries up in the forest. Golden stones, yellow sallies and caddis are hatching on the lower river. Hopper/dropper and streamers below the canyon.

GREYBULL / WOOD – Both are clear and fishing well. Terrestrial and attractor dry fly fishing has been fantastic.

YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK – Hoot Owl restrictions are now in effect on Soda Butte and Slough Creeks, as well as the Lamar River (downstream of Cache Creek) in the NE corner of the park which means no fishing is allowed after 2 pm. Look for green drakes, caddis and PMDs on the Yellowstone River above the falls.

NEWTON LAKES – Very warm. Fish early or late. Damsels, chironomids, leeches, flying ants and beetles.

LUCE/HOGAN RESERVOIRS -Very warm. Fish early or late. Damsels, chironomids, leeches, flying ants and beetles.
